DVB Shipping Asset Management (SAM) has been established as an area of expertise, aimed at assisting third party banks, ship financiers, bondholders, financial owners, and investors in vessels, with challenging credit and trading environments. SAM has access to a wide range of restructuring and recovery techniques and, when required, is able to work effectively both with other units within DVB, and selected market participants, in order to achieve a solution to the issue in question. The aim is to achieve the best financial outcome for the client given the circumstances of the case.

The unit will manage and assist the client in each stage of the credit challenge in question. This may involve developing strategies in each of the key areas, legal, insurance, technical, finance, and commercial. Using DVB SAM to assist in resolving credit challenges will significantly reduce the risk of failure, and increase the prospects for achieving a satisfactory result. If the client requirement is to seek new equity as part of a strategy, SAM will work closely with other areas within, and selected parties outside DVB in order to source a suitable solution.
