Dagfinn Lunde receives Ship Finance Personality Award from Lloyd's Shipping Economist
Dagfinn Lunde, Member of the Board of Managing Directors of DVB Bank and Head of DVB's Shipping Division, has been awarded "Ship Finance Personality" at the Lloyd's Shipping Economist (LSE) Awards 2006 ceremony held in London on 6th October. The award is for individuals who have made a major and ongoing contribution to the provision of finance for shipping. The LSE awards are recognized as the benchmark ceremony in the shipping finance sector.
At the same time, DVB's Shipping Research team has been awarded the accolade of "Best Shipping Finance Research 2006", for the third year in a row.
Mr. Lunde commented that "it is an honour to be voted and to receive this award from Lloyd's Shipping Economist". Mr. Lunde also commented that the award "reaffirmed the skills and expertise of DVB to structure highly complex transactions and continued strength in tailor-made financing for our clients. This award recognizes DVB's ongoing strength in ship finance".
Mr. Lunde joined DVB in August 2000. Since then Mr. Lunde has presided over the successful integration of Nedship Bank, acquired in 2000, and the international development of DVB's shipping finance activities. Before joining DVB Mr. Lunde was Managing Director of the International Association of Independent Tanker Owners (INTERTANKO). Prior to this Mr. Lunde spent much of his career with Norwegian banks and, between 1990-1995, was Chief Executive of Den norske Bank's North American operations. Mr. Lunde has been previously honoured with the United States Coast Guard Meritorious Public Service Award in 2000 in recognition of his dedication to worldwide maritime safety, environmental protection efforts and support of the United States Coast Guards goals in these areas.
