Bertrand Grabowski joins DVB's Board of Managing Directors
Bertrand Grabowski, 47, has been appointed a Member of the Board of Managing Directors of DVB Bank AG with effect from 1 May 2005. In his function he will assume responsibility for DVB's Aviation Finance Division. Welcoming the appointment, Wolfgang F. Driese, Chairman and CEO of DVB, said: "We are delighted to welcome an aviation expert of Bertrand's calibre to our Board of Managing Directors. His extensive worldwide experience in aircraft finance for more than 20 years will prove invaluable to DVB´s position as a specialist bank and global player in Transport Finance. His contribution to our activities and further expansion will equally benefit our clients and our whole team". Before joining DVB Mr Grabowski was Director at Citigroup's London based Asset Finance Group with a focus on Japan and certain EU countries. Prior to this Mr Grabowski spent much of his career with Crédit Agricole Indosuez (CAI). Between 1998 and 2000 he was Head of CAI's Aerospace Group for the Americas and in addition to this, as branch manager of CAI´s New York branch office he was responsible for the New York based business activities of CAI. Between 1990 and 1998 he was based in Tokyo and acted as Head of CAI's Asian Aerospace Group. From 1996 he also assumed responsibility for the CAI activities in Japan as a branch manager. Between 1984 and 1990 he worked for Banque Indosuez in Paris, building up the banks aircraft finance franchise at its start. Between 1981 and 1984 he worked for Société Navale Delmas-Vieljeux, where he was in charge of all aspects of financing of new vessels for the shipping company. Mr Grabowski graduated in 1978 from the ESSEC Business School (École supérieure des sciences économiques et commerciales) in Paris with an MBA.
